A friends mother passed away some time back leaving a registered will. Now my friend, (let’s call her J) is the middle child and has an elder brother(E) and a younger brother(B). Parents had 2 properties in their joint names a flat and a shop. Father had passed away before the mother not leaving a will. Upon the father passing away the Co-Op society in good faith transferred the flat to the mother and none of the children objected. In the will the mother left the flat to her daughter(J) and the shop to her elder brother, E. E then applied for a probate for the Will and got the LoA from the High Court. He then also executed a Transfer Deed for the flat to his sister J. Now when J is trying to sell the flat he is not sharing the original papers, share certificate and chain of documents with her, cause he wants more money from the deal. The society is not able to make J a member cause she does not have the original papers. J registered a complaint with the Registrar where her brother tried to intervene but the Registrar has given a judgement instructing the society to make her a member. Will J now be able to sell the flat based on this? How can she get her documents from E given that she is the rightful owner of the property?
E, has also taken illegal possession of the flat by breaking the lock that J had put.

Greetings, new guy to this forum. I have a modest collection of watches with the typical brands, like Seiko, Orient, Bulova, Casio, and a few micros like Islander and Spinnaker. I recently began my foray into Chinese brands, having picked up a Militado for my first a couple of weeks ago. I recently learned about the various big sales that AliExpress has throughout the year, and I figured I’d try and hit up this one coming up on June 12. I’d like to pick up a couple of San Martins (SN017, 018, 086/87, 121, and 0003 are in my crosshairs), Sugess and Seesterns of various models, and maybe a Cronos. I assume there is no way to know if a particular brand or model will be on sale? What is confusing to me is that I have seem some people say they have a few watches in their carts ahead of the sale, is that just in case those watches they want might go on sale, or is it a known thing which ones will go on sale? And do I consider going to different stores from the official stores of the brands I want? If so, is there list of stores to consider? Hi, so I called a local furniture store to order some furniture. As a naive person who is buying furniture for the first time, I think I made some mistakes.
The delivery date of the furniture is important, because I'm coordinating a cross country move. After emailing a representative at the store, I was advised to call and schedule a delivery date.
During the phone call, I was asked to send my desired furniture items to a sales associate via text message. The sales associate confirmed that the items were "in stock" and then asked me to call her to process the payment.
I called her, provided her with my card information, and then she informed me that the items would arrive at the store within two to three weeks, at which time they would call me to coordinate a delivery. She was very enthusiastic in her tone, so I just went along with it and we ended the call.
That was Thursday. On Friday, the day after making the purchase, I realized that something didn't feel right. After reflecting further, I realized a few things:

1. I did not receive a receipt.
2. I did not know what the return policy was.
3. I didn't really have a good sense of the quality of the furniture I'd purchased.

I continued to just kind of sit with the feeling until evening, at which time I decided to try to find out what the return policy was. The website actually doesn't list a return policy. It just states that you need to email the owner to request a written statement of the return policy. So, I went online to look for it in reviews.
What I found in the reviews were numerous complaints about furniture orders being delayed by several months.
I then did some thorough research about the items that I ordered and realized that I didn't want them due to their poor quality.
Then, I found a couple of reviews that stated that the store does not honor any returns or cancellations, though they sometimes offer exchanges. One review posted a photo of a return policy that stated "All sales are final, no cancellations," etc. That policy required that the buyer sign it.
Given what I'm finding out, I'd rather not deal with them at all at this point. I'd prefer a refund, and am not really open to an exchange.
Given that it's been less than 72 hours since I made the purchase, and that I didn't receive a receipt, and that the return or cancellation policy was never explained to me, what options do you think I have here? How do you think I should approach the situation?
It's kind of pathetic, but I wasn't able to sleep last night because I was so stressed out about this. Something about being disagreeable when the sales people were so nice has me feeling particularly anxious. Maybe that's part of the sales strategy?

Right, on to the question.
So for Curse of Strahd I have been reading the main book, Raising the Stakes, and Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft. I have also been looking online for insight.
Anyway, I've come to understand Strahd a bit as a character, and I know he is driven by 3 things - Tatyana, finding a consort, finding an heir. I also know he has one hell of an ego and likes to flaunt himself in front of the characters. Through various tidbits of information, I've learnt that Tatyana's soul has been reincarnated various times, and in my headcanon, Strahd has tried to take her multiple times : - by force, abducting her as a child and raising her, through stockhold syndrome, by fear...etc and every time she still dies before he is able to turn her (The Dark Powers have a twisted sense of humour it seems, and love to see Strahd suffer above anyone else).

So, this time, he wants to make her fall in love with him and come to him willingly.

What I've noticed a lot in various artworks of Strahd is that he is a lot older and not what I'd call *conventionally attractive*, so I've decided to use that to my advantage - whenever anyone sees *Strahd*, he is using an illusion to make himself look old, gaunt, bony and rather frail, despite the overpowering aura. But in fact, Strahd is quite youthful and a very beautiful man (hence the ego coming in; he's beautiful and he knows it). Yet he never allows anyone to really see his real self because he quite likes to walk among the populace, and even approach travellers who intend to *kill Strahd*. He finds it amusing and likes toying with adventurers.

My players will meet Strahd under a guise, because Ireena is with them, and kind of join their party, trying to get to know them, find out their weaknesses, befriends them, and try and make Ireena fall in love with him. My problem is that I am not 100% which *guise* I should play. I have 2 in mind, and I am torn between which one.

1. As a Barovian native called Aleksei who is an administrator dealing with the wills of people after death. Because heirs and family are a little scattered, he is often travelling between Barovia and Vallaki. They meet him initially at the Blood on the Vine, but later he joins them when they *save* him from a wolf attack on their way to Vallaki.
2. As a former adventurer called Nathaniel whose party tried to kill Strahd and failed, leaving him the only survivor. Strahd would've gathered information about the outside world from former adventurers and his vistani spies, enough to create this persona whose goals align with the party's, and they welcome him in. He is then able to explain that he has been unable to escape the mist and has been stuck in Barovia for a few years, and has defaulted to working odd jobs.

I want my Strahd to BE IN THEIR FACES, I want him to befriend them, to lull them into a false sense of security, I want them to trust him and see him as one of their own, all the while he is collecting information, data, and doing everything he can to fuck with them from behind the scenes. His ego knows no bounds and he has been BORED beyond belief in his tower, but is now intrigued by these new heros, particularly the Lawful Good Divine Soul Sorcerer Aasimar, who he so badly wants the Dark powers to corrupt, and he wishes to see it first hand; oh how he will relish that view. And of course, the twist will be, when the team comes to face Strahd, it will be their friend, and it will be the question of whether or not the *real* Strahd is this vampire overlord, of if Nathaniel/Aleksei is who he really is deep down. Also, I'm homebrewing the ending because I don't like the idea that even if they defeat Strahd, he will eventually come back, and currently one of my players - unbeknownst to them - is in possession of Sergei's Journal, which will, if it all goes to plan, finally break the cycle, culminating in a battle against the Dark Powers themselves. But that's for another day.

I want to know, from DMs who have DMed CoS before, if this could be played well, and if so, any idea which of the two I should go for, and any tips on how I can make it even more devastating to my players? I wanna squeeze their hearts with this one.

In the modern western world, Carbs are the staple of what we are taught to eat. Research shows that a high-carb diet full of bread, noodles, and pasta is problematic on a hormonal level. Carbohydrates break down into glucose into your body the same way sugar does, so at the end of the day eating even normal bread is like eating a pastry. It is also frustrating to try and live off of carbs like rice or bread because they do not leave you feeling full. I won’t say that you need to avoid fruits or other healthy food just because it “technically” has carbs since I find that ridiculous, but just keep in mind when you’re eating to actually feel full, carbohydrates are actively working against you.
If you have broken your addiction to sugar and are still gaining weight, then the heavy carbs of the modern world are most likely why. Ancient humans would not have had bread available to them in hunter-gatherer societies and that is why we are not evolutionarily adapted to handle them. Carbohydrates are also the reason many people in the west cannot seem to lose weight or think their weight is normal without questioning it. Outside of the western world where carbs are known to be unhealthy, they are a lot thinner and have less problems with obesity.
I hate to be that person who tells you once again that everything you know is a lie, but the entire ideology of low-fat diets being normal or healthier comes from the 1950’s where studies suggested that low fat diets helped as a preventative measure against heart disease, and then it was applied to the entire population. This is damaging to the health of people and also harms modern spirituality since high blood sugar can work against your pineal gland. The ketones generated from a low-carb diet also increase your brain function. Just not eating bread and getting your carbs from vegetables, bananas or fruit will really put you in control of your health and appetite. You will also need to learn to juggle demand for salt, magnesium, potassium, and a lot of water since your kidneys work differently on this diet.
However the low carb diet does require understanding your body’s needs and an idea of how to meet your nutritional and vitamin requirements. Over time you may actually notice that a low carb diet has a similar spiritual effect on your body to fasting, without actually needing to skip meals. You don’t even need to be strictly Keto though. If your body is producing ketones, it will affect your brain and you will get some euphoric effects as if you had taken a drug. It’s one way to alter your mind that the regime cannot make it illegal or try to ban it from sale like the other substances.
Personally, I never set out to start a diet intentionally but after continuing to work on an empty stomach after loading up with carb-heavy food, the third eye realized that carbohydrates are useless. I am not even following the keto diet correctly and I still eat some stuff with carbs, but just filling up with protein and fat really helps me to not be hungry all the time like I usually am.

First up, as someone new to the UK, I'd like to give a shout out to the NHS for their care in my time of need. I've recently heard and read some pretty bad stuff about it and the system overall, but other than an rather prolonged stay, my experience was wonderful and I could not be more grateful 🙏🏾
Ok, back to it: Title says it all really. I'm in a 2nd floor flat with my wife (who has long covid and I've been caring for) so with me now down for the count (thanks football) we definitely need some help.
A few tasks we already have in mind:
- Picking up groceries - Picking up and bringing us packages (we can no longer get them at home as we can't get downstairs fast enough to catch delivery drivers before they drive away) - Help with dishes and laundry - Clearance of some things (even getting empty amazon boxes out to the street is a challenge right now) - Playing fifa with me would be an added bonus (paid time, of course) but doubtful the wifey is going to allow that
I think we're looking for a personal assistant but maybe it's more commonly referred to as something else here? Any pointers or recommendations would very helpful.

Hey! So passing by a garage sale recently, some guy was selling Far Cry 1-5 for pocket change. So I picked up the lot.
Haven't installed anything from a CD in like a decade, but the first set with 2+3 in it went just fine; you put in the discs, they installed, and you could run the games. You know, old-school like.
But tried to install 5 and it seems like things have changed. It first made me install uplay, which I did, but after that I hit a wall. Running setup now brings up the uplay installer again, but after hitting next it just closes with no further activity. Nothing else happens, there's not even a process in Task Manager.
Went into my new uplay account and tried punching in the code in the box but of course it's already in use; presumably garage sale guy didn't bother to disconnect it.
Is there a way around this? If not then whatever, it was pocket change and even just 2+3 would be well worth it. But it seems weird we apparently live in a day and age where buying a set of discs off someone is no longer enough to run a game... is this right or am I having a premature senior moment?

We're considering moving elsewhere for a change and Nottingham has been recommended by a group of friends. Though I'm really stuck on where to live, I haven't visited just yet, I'm planning on coming for a week to Nottingham in the Summer.
Just for context, I'm mid 30's and my partner is mid 20's. I'm working from home and my partner will most likely be working in some sort of office. I drive but my partner doesn't, so being bang in the center of the city isn't vital but being near public transport links would be great. We tend to enjoy staying within walking distance from the more central areas or public transport routes that take less than 20 minutes to reach central. Can anyone suggest areas that may suit me best during my visit?
We have a budget of around 1500/month, may want to buy if things go well after the first year. Our budget to buy would be up to £600,000-ish.
What are the areas I should avoid looking in? Antisocial, unsafe.
Is there anywhere a bit further out I should consider looking at?
Any tips for areas to visit for a coffee & walk around to get a general vibe of the area?
For context, we're moving up from Brighton and things we value from here close to where we stay are:
Being within walking distance of a good gym health club or a good sized park for running/run routes.
Tennis club that has indoor facilities if possible (I know Notts Indoor Tennis is meant to be amazing, but anywhere else that would be worth joining or checking out?)
Bookable 3G Football Pitches so I can get involved with some sports. (Astrokings, etc)
Easy access to outdoor spaces/parks that aren't swarmed by small children.
Walk able area with cafes/restaurants/convenience stores without being overly crowded.
I have had a look at similar previous posts on the sub and it seems the following areas might fit us well: West Bridgford, Beeston, Chilwell and Wollaton.
