So I know the general signs but I don't actually know if what is happening to me means it's infected. I'm on about my 3rd week and I change my gauze daily and after I shower each time there is yellow discharge and I have a rash around my nipple area. My appointment is not until next week and I was unsure if I should wait or if this is normal. It's been incredibly itchy so I've used different creams suggested by my doctor and I haven't been scratching it. I've had a fever since my surgery but that pretty common for me when I take medicine in general and it's been very low so they weren't concerned about that. Any advice or going though something similar?

To make a super long story short , I (f20) was abused a lot in my childhood. For my dad , it was verbal , mental and physical. For my step mom, it was mental and verbal mostly. As of recently , she’s been trying to mend our relationship. Although she hasn’t apologized or admitted that she was wrong in the past, she’s just been generally nicer to me and stuff. So, our relationship is still very strained. She believes it’s better but I see it as her being the exact same person in a different font. Anyway, I want to go to college this fall and live on campus. And when I told her she said “you don’t want to live with me anymore?” And it wasn’t really in a guilt trippy way, but it made me feel so guilty. She also tried to convince me that there are other ways to get there. I feel like I owe something to her for some reason? I feel bad for leaving her all alone because I know she doesn’t want to be. Even with all the abuse she’s put me through (unforgivable things tbh) I still don’t want to hurt her feelings. Maybe it’s because of the manipulation in my childhood or because I know she likes having me here. It could be a lot of things. She also has a lot of medical issues (arthritis, scoliosis, vertigo, diabetes, etc) shes actually a dwarf in the eyes of some doctors (shes 4’11) so I just feel awful about leaving her by herself. Does anyone else deal with this kind of guilt? What do I do to overcome this? I need to live on campus to get to classes reliably…

Medication: 200mg Zoloft 200mg Seroquel nightly. Zofran, Phenergan, and Ativan take as needed. I also take a multivitamin daily.
Last September, I had to take a ride in an ambulance and the EMT told me my blood pressure was low. Fast forward to the past month or two and I've had to go to the doctor every week for vital checks, and every time my blood pressure has been low. It ranges from 105/70 at the very highest to 80/50 at the lowest. Usually I'm at 90/60. Is this cause for concern? One thing my doctor noted is that my pulse jumps 23 bpm when I stand up. I also get dizzy, feel like my head is buzzing, and my hearing becomes deafened for a minute or so after standing. I've never fainted though. What does this mean? I had blood work done a couple weeks ago and almost everything was in the normal range. I'm not anemic or anything, and I have no vitamin deficiencies. The only things out of the ordinary were: my magnesium levels were a little high, my prothrombin time was 15 seconds, and my albumin was a bit high. Could my medicine be causing this?
Tl;dr: I always have mildly low blood pressure. Is this concerning? What might be the cause? Thanks

I'm not walking crouched over and in pain anymore. I don't get short of breath turning over in bed. I can make breakfast without (literally) blacking out. I feel like a brand new person.. I was drinking a gallon a day, compression socks, plus increased salt. doesn't have shit on the relief Nadolol has brought me (although I still maintain this regime per my dr!)
I just want to recommend nadolol if you're currently unmedicated for POTS.. actually i wanna scream from the mountaintops about it.. i am probably going to cry when i see my doctor again bc of the relief this has brought me. (I guess above it all, really I should recommend finding a doctor who is confident in treating you. My primary physician did her best, but wasn't versed enough.. Cardiologist gaslit me and told me to calm down.. last straw, saw an electrophysiologist and finally he helped treat me)
I was so scared of that beta-blocker sedation I experienced on propranolol but seemingly my energy envelope has increased GREATLY, like 4x the amount genuinely, since taking this. I don't think I realized how additionally fatiguing my POTS was and I attributed malaise 100% to ME. but I think it was making it way worse.
we are all different. Prop may work for you, nadolol might not. I adjusted to it in 1-2 weeks.. and I was able to take a TRIP TO THE FREAKING BEACH for the first time in two years and WALK!!!!!!!!! NO CHEST PAIN! no rapid heartbeat!!!!!!!! no blackouts!! I WALKED THROUGH SAND every day .. and I didn't even crash afterwards!
IT IS WORTH EXPERIMENTING with medications to treat your POTS. I KNOW it is exhausting and it's easy to put off. i know how hard dr apps are with ME. that's why I post here and not the POTS sub. it's so different for us and i get that. the hoops u have to go through with quadrupole checking heart health before they will treat you too, IT IS A LOT. it took 2 months of appointments and heart monitors and heart ultrasounds before they treated me. and i wanted to just give up because it is strenuous. but I wish I had treated this so much sooner, and I wish I had not stuck it out on prop for so long. it has blessed me with such an increased quality of life. I cannot encourage you enough to seek pots treatment even if the first one you tried did not work well for you. I wish I had not given up treatment for a year. keep trying and keep experimenting. it just might be worth it

A little backstory about me… I haven’t smoked in 3 months and honestly I don’t even have the slightest urge to wanna smoke. My situation maybe a little different but earlier this year I started to notice that I was struggling to breathe at times, I went to the doctors but surprisingly they told me everything was fine. They later told me that it was just anxiety or panic attacks that I was having and didn’t even notice lol. I was terrified but said fuck it and decided to stop smoking for good but this time I decided to not count the days or even think about it in general. This helped with the process because I just wasn’t giving weed any energy at all. I could be wrong but I genuinely think that if you really wanna quit you just gotta turn your back, DO NOT think about it at all, and DONT count the days. Obviously the first few weeks are gonna be the hardest but really try to detached yourself from the plant, whenever you start thinking about weed in any sense just shift your thought to something else( go for a walk/exercise helps a lot). So for about the past three years I have had a severe phobia of going into anaphylaxis. This all started when I had an allergic reaction to a medication and my throat began to swell (technically not an anaphylactic reaction since it didn’t effect my breathing just my vocal cords) and I had to call an ambulance at work (ask a nurse told me not to risk driving in case it started to cause breathing issues). For the most part it has been a non-issue as I’d always ask doctors to prescribe a medication I’ve had before if I needed anything. However lately it has mutated into something into something I can’t avoid. I was recently diagnosed with MS so a new medication is unavoidable. Just thinking about having to start it sends me into a cycle of panic attacks that can last hours. If that weren’t bad enough in the past couple of weeks it’s turned into me being afraid to eat anything, even if it’s something I ate just an hour or two previously. I’m at a loss as for what to do. I just needed to rant to get it off my chest but if anyone has any advice or experience with this I’d love to hear it. I am already working with a therapist but it’s not helping at all (with the phobia anyways therapy has greatly helped me improve many other aspects of my life).

This is a better version of a homebrew I made a while back. I deleted it because it wasn't as well made back then, but I really like where it's at now. The Magnum Opus is a being that was magically born from a great work of art. It could be a fictional character made real, the physical manifestation of a song or poem, or even a joke or rumor spun out of control and given life. Perhaps you were even the creator of the being in question. In any case, there are a number of reasons that such a being would become a patron, most often being the chance to live in the real world through those they empower, whatever that may entail.

When you cast Minor Illusion this way, you can create both visual and auditory illusions at the same time, both in more complex ways than you could before. The sounds could be backup vocals, instruments with accompanying melodies, or even the cheers and jeers of an audience. The visuals could be props and costumes, backup dancers, or even a stage, and the visual illusions you create extend beyond the normal 5-foot cube to encompass the full range of the spell. When you make a Charisma (Performance) check using Minor Illusion in this way, you may treat any roll of a 9 or lower on the d20 for that roll as a 10.
Plot Armor
Also at 1st level, you are granted the power to physically manifest the cultural staying power of your patron as magical armor, which you can adapt to best suit your physique.
When you gain this feature, you learn the Eldritch Invocation Armor of Shadows (see the Eldritch Invocations feature for details). This cannot be replaced with another Eldritch Invocation at later levels.
Additionally, while you are under the effects of the Mage Armor spell, if your Strength score is 15 or more, the AC granted to you by the Mage Armor spell becomes 19 (no modifiers are applied).
Also, when you reach 10th level, you gain a +1 bonus to the AC granted to you by the Mage Armor spell.
Story Beat
At 6th level, whenever you make a Charisma check using a skill that you are proficient in other than Performance, you may treat it as a Charisma (Performance) check, but only if you can think of a way to perform the check in an entertaining manner (Examples: intimidating foes with a dark ballad, persuading armies to fight with a rousing speech, deceiving others by telling a entrancing tale of false events). Rewrite
At 10th level, you can temporarily interpose the laws of reality with the laws that govern the fictional realm of your patron, allowing you to push past the normal limits of both your body and your magic.

• When next you cast a warlock spell of 1st level or higher this turn, you may do so without expending a spell slot.
• Cast a warlock cantrip that you know with a casting time of 1 Action.

Second Take
At 14th level, once per turn, when you fail a Charisma check, you can roll an additional d20 and choose which d20 to use among those you rolled. Then, until the start of your next long rest, you can grant advantage to one Charisma check that you make during that time, but only before the roll is made.
Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until the end of a long rest.

When we met we went at it like rabbits. We've been together about 5 years now. The sex was great in the beginning - he was the first guy with whom I was able to cum during sex, and we used to climax together every time, and it was great.
At one point we had to go long distance and after we reunited the sex wasn't ever really the same.
After moving in together post-LDR, two years went by with barely any sex. Two years of me (HLF) feeling unsatisfied, unsexy, unwanted by him (LLM).
Part of the reason we hit that roadblock of not having sex was because while we were living in different countries, he was falsely accused of sexual harassment and that really took a toll on him, mentally and emotionally.
For those two years after reuniting we barely ever had sex (every couple months or so), and when we did it was almost always without climax for either of us. I think there was a deep psychological issue in his head around being sexual, which makes sense. He would go soft and ask if we could continue tomorrow, but then not initiate the next day.
I would frequently bring up the fact that I wanted to go back to how we were, and he would respond and indicate he felt the same way. But at the same time, I didn't see any effort to go to therapy, or do anything differently, or see a doctor about his erectile issues, or make any changes, at all.
So for a long time I would express that I needed things to change, I'd hear a 'yes', and then nothing would change. I got extremely frustrated, as he would agree when I brought it up but then the next day things were exactly the same.
One thing I found irritating is that even though he went soft, I was still aroused and in the mood, and no effort was made to help me finish up... in previous relationships, the guy would be happy to help me out even if he wasn't in the mood. Not here - it would just abruptly stop and I'd either have to shut myself down and stuff away those feelings of desire and arousal, or go off into a different room and finish myself off awkwardly.
He's now in therapy and has discussed the sexual harassment case to some extent with his therapist. And somehow, now, he's ready to have sex again. I'm not sure how, since two therapy sessions of talking about it can't have changed that much, but anyway... I now find myself in an extremely frustrating situation.
Whenever he initiates, I can't help but think back - and FEEL back - to all those times he couldn't keep it hard, all those times he looked into my eyes and I felt him go soft. All the times I felt like I wasn't enough for him. All the times I let my horniness build for weeks because he didn't want me and I wasn't going to ask him to want me.

I [F25] have always had dry skin but about a month ago two places in my body started getting real itchy, a part of my right leg and a part of my back. It’s extremely itchy and dry so the doctor prescribed me a triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% ointment, but it doesn’t work at all, it’s still very itchy and the itchy parts feel like leather. Also, the itchy area is spreading. Does anyone have any suggestion ?
Extra info: I use cetaphil lotion daily, and i had eczema on my face like 4 years ago. Also, i had taken a real long hot bath on the day it started to itch.

hi, 19 yr old female here. i've started to hear some stuff a few months ago, didnt think much on them since i thought i just wasnt sleeping enough(true) and tbh didnt rlly care. i was mostly hearing someone calling my name, sometimes the voices im not used to, sometimes my parents voice. also i was hearing rapid breathing sounds and most random sounds in general. they didnt stop, i still hear them and theyre getting worse actually. as im writing this, im hearing rooster sounds and rn is 4 am and theres no rooster around here that i know of. i've been hearing animal voices a lot these days but dk where they are coming from.
i remember seeing shadows, distorted faces when i was a kid but also didnt think much on them since i was just a kid(i loved horror stuff so i thought i was just making them in my head) that also didnt stop throughout the years but they were here and there, not rlly much, til now.

I am going to see my doctor soon, I am wondering if I should start Minoxidil + Finasteride.
I am NOT interested in daily usage of Finasteride, out of fear of developing erectile dysfunction.
HOWEVER
Is there a reputable routine for using these two in combination? Does anyone have any input? I’ve seen men say they used it 4x weekly w/ Minoxidil topical and had success.

So long story short, I rolled my ankle after work today. I’m a pregnant soldier, third trimester, in a very male-dominated unit. Is there anyway to tell an NCO what’s going on without sounding like a shitbag, and should I do it tonight or tomorrow?

Job 1: $76k. 1 hr 15 min commute (ugh) but only two days/week in office. Slightly lighter workload, more welcoming company culture.
Great PTO and benefits - 4 weeks vacation, 5 sick days, fully paid medical & dental premiums AND copays (!!) for employee & dependents (we have two young kids and my husband doesn’t have insurance through his employer, this would save us a lot of $$).
Job 2: $81k. Fully remote. Slightly heaviemore stressful workload, from what I can tell the org culture feels a little coldemore distant but it may just be that all staff is remote.
Benefits: 3 weeks vacation, 10 sick days. Employer pays 90% of health/dental premium for employee; I would have to pay full premiums for my husband and kids if I put them on this plan. We would also pay copays.
I am really stuck! Fully remote is super appealing because my kids are young and in daycare, and the long commute time for #1 will make it very difficult for my husband and I to figure out daycare pick up/drop off. (Although I have some family who may be able to help those days if I ask.)
I’m also wondering if the slightly lower salary for #1 might be made up by the fact that they’re covering all medical costs. With two kids in daycare we’ve been sick a lot and to the doctourgent care frequently this winter. (It’s been pretty terrible actually.)
Any advice?? I am so stuck.

My second child just turned 3. He’s ready for a big kid’s bed, but I’m not so sure I’m ready! He gets into EVERYTHING. I mean everything. I’m worried at night he’ll get into something he’s not supposed to and possibly get injured, but I’m also worried if we don’t convert him to a big bed, it may make him regress and not really learn “how to be a big kid”? Like, how can he be a big kid if not given the chance?
My question…those of you who have had a very adventurous/curious/stubborn/insanely independent child, how and when did you convert them to a big kid bed??
Also, I was diagnosed with MS in 2021 and I’m worried I may not sleep well again knowing he has free roam of the house. Fatigue is one of the biggest symptoms I battle with everyday and lack of sleep can cause my right hand, arm, leg and foot to be so numb I can’t feel it. Also, can’t always use my right arm to drive without numbness and tingling.
Any advise, tips, tricks, shared experiences would be greatly appreciated~

#10. Robert Hansen
Robert Hansen participated in hunting as a teenager to get away from his difficult home situation. But as he aged, his prey changed from animals to people. He would kidnap women, frequently sex workers, attack them, and then fly or drive them into the bush.
He would hunt them down like prey and play with their lives. Hansen, who the media dubbed "The Butcher Baker," was found to have killed at least 17 women and abused at least 17 others. Cindy Paulson, a young sex worker, was supposed to be on the list in 1983.
However, she was able to flee as he was tracking his plane, which allowed the police to apprehend him. He was given a 461-year sentence, and after serving 31 years, he passed away in custody.
#9. Israel Keyes
Unknown killers are the most dreadful to both the public and the police. How about one who was also trained by the American Army to make matters worse? Israel Keyes' case was one such instance. Keyes had set up death kits across the nation, giving him access to tools wherever he chose to attack someone.
The FBI was able to track his bank account activity after he killed Samantha Koenig, and made an arrest as a result of the ransom demand. Israel Keyes, 34, was detained by police in Texas, 4,000 miles away.
But as soon as he was in custody, authorities learned that Keyes had killed other people. Keyes committed suicide in 2012, just before going on trial, and he took with him information that could have helped solve additional cases.
# 8. John Wayne Gacy
People often have a fear of clowns, and the case of John Wayne Gacy didn't do anything to ease those fears. Gacy often went to parties and events as a clown, but behind the scenes, he was a serial killer who killed boys and men.
In 1978, Gacy would tell his lawyers what he had done because he thought the police were on to him. The police had everything they needed to search his house, where they would find several bodies in the crawl space.
He was accused of killing 33 young men and would spend 14 years on death row before being put to death with a lethal injection.
#7. Marcel Petiot
In the 1940s, when Germany controlled France, a doctor named Marcel Petiot preyed on people who were trying to escape persecution. He later said he was working for the resistance, even though there was no proof. Under the name Dr. Eugene, Petiot set up a fake escape route. He gave those who were running a fake vaccine that had cyanide in it, then stole their things and got rid of their bodies. Petiot was put to death in 1946 after 23 bones were found. He may have killed about 60 people all together.
#6. Jeffrey Dahmer
Jeffrey Dahmer started a horrible murdering spree in his late teens. The majority of his later crimes entailed terrible actions to the body, and all of his victims were men or boys. Tracy Edwards was invited back to Dahmer's apartment in 1991 with the promise of drink and cash for pictures.
Edwards, though, recognized something wasn't right and made it away. He signaled for police, who went to Dahmer's residence and found some disturbing evidence that led to Dahmer's arrest. He was given a life sentence after being found guilty of 15 murders. He was, however, fatally attacked by fellow prisoner Christopher Scarver in 1994.
#5. David Parker Ray
Sometimes murderers go the additional, dreadful mile with their scheme. A trailer that David Parker Ray designated as his "toy box" was modified. The trailer was equipped with his violent tools and soundproofed. With the help of accomplices, including his girlfriend Cynthia Hendy, he would kidnap women, abuse them for weeks in the trailer, and likely terminate their lives.
After three days, a woman in 1999 was able to escape the toy box with the assistance of a neighbor. As soon as possible, the police detained Ray and Hendy. Ray received a 224-year prison term as part of a plea agreement, while Hendy, who testified against her former partner, received a 36-year sentence.
Ray killed at least 60 women, according to some estimates, while the exact number is unknown. He alleged to have kidnapped 40 ladies from all around the United States. He was never charged and he never will be because no bodies were ever discovered. Ray passed away after a heart attack in prison in 2002.
#4. Fred and Rosemary West
Serial killers can sometimes be found in couples. Although Rose's first victim was allegedly Fred's stepdaughter, Fred had committed murders before meeting Rosemary. After that, the two continued on the rampage, killing nine additional individuals along with West's first wife Catherine Costello and their daughter Heather West.
Numerous of the dead were interred on their lands. The cops discovered proof of the violence after looking into assault allegations against the pair. Despite being formally accused of 12 murders, more are thought to have occurred. West committed suicide in 1995, just before his trial, and Rosemary received a life sentence.
#3. Albert Fish
Nearly a century ago, the "Gray Man" and even the "Boogeyman" were among the names given to a murderer who was on the loose in New York. It's really not that far off. Albert Fish was a sick person who preyed on kids. Even though we aren't able to specifically name the atrocities committed against children, they are terrible.
Even more disturbingly, the insane Fish sent a letter outlining his actions to the mother of one of his victims. Fish was apprehended in 1934 after ten years of his deeds when witnesses claimed to have seen him with kidnapped children.
Fish would acknowledge the killings while also asserting that he had more than 100 victims. He was given the death penalty at his trial the following year, and it was carried out in 1936.
#2. Harold Shipman
Doctors are supposed to be trustworthy individuals. This makes the Harold Shipman case all the more terrifying. He was an English general practitioner who exclusively treated patients for the purpose of taking their lives. One of his patients passed away unexpectedly in 1998, and Shipman received a sizable inheritance thanks to a will that the patient's family was unaware of.
When the police looked into the doctor, they discovered forged documents. Further investigation revealed that several of his patients appeared to have died from diamorphine overdoses. Shipman was accused of killing 15 patients, many of them elderly women, in 1999.
There may have been as many as 250 victims after he was given a life sentence in prison. He was discovered at 6:20 in the morning having committed suicide in his prison cell.
#1. Pedro Lopez
What could possibly be worse than a serial killer? How about a known person who authorities are now unable to find? Pedro Lopez, who was born in Colombia and went by the moniker "Monster of the Andes," committed numerous murders in South America.
It seemed improbable that one individual could have committed so much violence. If Lopez were telling the truth, he would be one of history's most active serial killers. Lopez was detained in Ecuador in 1980 after attempting to kidnap someone. He was shortly accused of 110 homicides. Lopez allegedly said that he may have had more than 300 victims.
Before it was removed out of bad taste, the Guinness World Records had him listed as the most prolific serial killer in 2006. Unfortunately, Lopez was deemed sane and released for good behavior in 1998. But as of 2002, his whereabouts are a mystery after he was connected to another homicide.

During the most recent Nashville shooting coverage Hasan went and looked up female mass shooters. Then he pulled up the University of Alabama Huntsville shooting.
That's my hometown and where I graduated college with a biology degree.
First of all, I wasn't there when it happened. I was in high school at the time but I want to share additional details because some of the professors that survived the attack became my professors in the handful or so years following.
There is absolutely no way the shooter should have been able to access a firearm. She had already shot and killed her brother decades prior in what had been officially ruled an accident (though the fact that she fled and held two auto shop employees at gunpoint to get an escape vehicle suggests otherwise) and then later probably sent someone a pipe bomb in the mail. She was clearly mentally unwell. I don't know what else you need to see to decide this is the kind of person who shouldn't have access to a firearm.
One of the three surviving victims of the shooting became my microbiology professor. He was still able to teach following the shooting but his ability to write legibly on the board came and went and nobody in the rather large class could stomach telling him that they needed him to rewrite what he had put on the board even though he insisted we do so. This man was teaching classes to pre-med students who would go on to become doctors and had that ability diminished by our legislators who refuse to pass even the slightest level of gun control laws federally.
I felt compelled to share this because as soon as Hasan pulled up the Wikipedia page for the incident you had chat see the word "Alabama" and suddenly kneejerk to painting everyone there with a broad brush like we're all just idiot cousin fucking conservatives that had it coming. The room the shooter attacked was a room full of biology professors who all had masters degrees if not doctorates in some subfield of biology. The people that made up those faculty meetings were some of the hardest working, smartest, most invaluable members of our society. Every semester they were exposing kids from a deeply red state to evidence that undermines conservative ideologies. These are the kinds of people chat's making fun of after they fell victim to a mass shooting. Don't be like these chatters, please.

I 29f had a complete abdomen ultrasound today. The ultrasound report was sent to my doctor immediately which is not usual. Normally it takes 48 hours. My doctor called me 3 hours after the ultrasound to let me know she received the ultrasound report and that she doesn’t want me to panic. But I have to get an abdominal and pelvis ct scan asap the next day. because they noticed some mass in my gallbladder that is too large. For background I have cramping pain on my right side. I have constipation and smelly gas. I’m also on ppi daily dose of 40mg Here is the important finding of the report:
1-There are 2 hyperechoic foci along the gallbladder wall that are felt to reflect polyps one of which measures up to 1.3 cm in diameter. The larger lesion almost resembles a mass and I recommend CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis with contrast to further investigate. 2. No gallstones are seen. 3. Liver is not enlarged. No focal defects are observed. 4. The kidneys are without stone or hydronephrosis.
Please be honest with me. Does the use of word mass indicates cancer? Why do they need a pelvis ct scan if the gallbladder is in the abdomen? Is it possible they suspect cancer that has spread to other parts?
