Hey there!
I am looking for players to start a new homebrewed campaign. Newbies are welcome!
Before anything else, here's the schedule :)
- a Champion themed as a Samurai whose code/tenets are flavored as their Bushido (deity depending on lipons pantheon)
- probably best following a Lawful cause, namely the Paladin (Lawful Good)
- a Ranger themed as a wandering Ronin (samurai champloo type beat, rebellious personality and whatnot)
- Dual Weapon Warrior archetype and Flurry edge to wield a wakizashi/katana, miyamoto musashi style (daisho)
- most samurais were actually mounted archers (baijutsu), so Precision using a bow/yumi and Phantom Steed could work for a samurai
- a Rogue themed as a Shinobi (focused on either assassination or info gathering/reconnaissance)
- Thief racket for the assassin, could also work for a spy but maybe Mastermind instead?
- could focus on poisons for the assassin concept as well if wanting a specific build theme
- a Monk themed around Buddhist philosophies (ideally with a unique spin on it as to not be Generic Monk™️)
- could go Dragon Stance and follow the themes of eastern dragons, or maybe drunken fist theme with Stumbling Stance?
- a Fighter themed as an imperial Officer (not really appropriate to the Edo period as far as i can tell??? but )
- imperial japan stuff happens right after the Edo period it seems. so probably best saved for next generation of characters
- could also easily work as a Samurai or Ronin concept, but prefer Champion and Ranger for those themes respectively
- would work best for a Kensei (sword saint) theme due to best combat prowess, could go daisho/musashi style as well
- a Gunslinger themed as a Revolutionary (oda nobunaga type beat, definitely not Edo period but maybe if time advances and firearms become a thing lmao)
- apparently the sengoku period (when nobunaga was around) is before Edo period??? tho still probably best saved for next generation
- gunmen were called Ashigaru if wanting to go for a more soldieinfantry type theme
- a Magus themed as a Wanderer who seeks to learn the magic and swordsmanship techniques of other people
Casters
- a Bard who inspires people in battle with their Shamisen (imagine naruto soundtrack stuff lmao)
- probably following the Warrior muse with this direction, tho Maestro or Enigma could work instead?
- a Summoner whose eidolon is themed as some sort of spiritual Kami (if they exist in lipon)
- could also go Druid due to similar summoning stuff + closer ties to nature/spirits
- a Witch can also work if flavoring the familiapatron stuff as Kami
- a Wizard themed as a Scholar (maybe an innovator as sorts, establishing mathematic concepts future generations)
- Universalist probably works for a general scholar, but Divination could lend itself to a Onmyōdō concept
- a Cleric themed around spiritualism or buddhism?? heavily dependent on lore of deities/divinity/spirits
- could go Warpriest if wanting to associate with samurai stuff still
- Cloistered doctrine works for a shrine maiden/Onmyōdō concept as well
- could also go Oracle for a similar concept as the above
- a Sorcerer themed around whatever their bloodline is (see list below)
- Draconic (arcane) or Wyrmblessed (divine) if descendant of eastern dragons
- Imperial (arcane) if related to the EmperoShogun

From humble beginnings
To Legends of myth !
Campaign TL;DR
- the campaign name is Falling Heavens Into Steel!
- To feel what we're going for think of Sekiro, the journey to the west, and ghost Tushima! We are also touching on themes of Shintoism and Buddhism! as well as some of the Akira Kurosawa films!
- You will be from the land of Hwoarang! born in a small town and
ex-rice kingdomof Amir! However, outside of that your parents and everything else will be up to you! below a player has made a good list of concepts to inspire you! - definitely 60% roleplay 30% combat 10% exploration
- This campaign spans 2 generations !
Ideas

Campaign Focus
- I won't be railroading this too much this is the player's journey of peace. This campaign is not a journey of anger and war but one of peace and understanding. I do not recommend you come into this with the vision of being a classic "anime samurai". it's not a good idea to play an evil character either as this story is based on Buddist folklore along with Shinto. More will be elaborated on in session 0.
