A good friend from high school is getting married in October 900 miles away. I want to attend more than anything.
However, the trip is not feasible for me to make. My car is from the 90s, so I would have to book a flight. The venue is another 3 hour drive from the airport, so I'd have to rent a car. I also would have to stay and pay for nights at the resort, which would tack on another $800. Lastly, missing work in October is very difficult for my line of work.
This is a trip that would take me years to recover from financially, so I RSVPed as not attending. Ever since then, my friend has expressed disappointment and resentment towards me.
Am I in the wrong, or is this friend going overboard with their reaction? It's not like this has ended a friendship, but I don't want there to be a thorn between us.

I am going on this trip with my wife in mid October. I've out together an itinerary and was hoping someone with experience could give their view on it and whether I have planned too much. Also, whether anything I've included is actually not worth the hassle or similar to something else.
About us... Mid 30s. I am not a fan of crowds (they bring my heart rate up) and am aware that many of the places on the itinerary are crowded but my wife really wants to go to Japan so here we are. My favourite holiday activities are things like kayaking and nature walking (moderate hikes are fine with us) - I love nature and beautiful scenary. To be honest, I've struggled to incorporate these things into the itinerary so if there's any suggestions people may have for activities close to where we are going I'd love to here them. I saw you could kayak in Okutama but all I could find is group things and we really don't like group activites.
I have one request for food suggestions which is a fancy dinner local to The Gate Hotel in Ginza on Day 13 (But not so fancy that jeans/smart shoes are needed as we won't have those).
Neither of us are into anime but the wife likes pokemon.
We are flying from the UK. Flight departs at 7.20pm so we expect to sleep on the plane.

Land at 5.15pm. Check in at hotel and go to Asakusa / Senso-ji / Sumida Park

Teamlabs 9am. Pokemon Cade midday. Shibuya Sky 4.30pm. Shinjuku in evening (getting all the reservation places done in one day)
Day 3 - Wednesday 18th October - Tokyo - Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Marunouchi
If the weather is nice, we will do the Hakone Round Course recommended by Japan Guide, ending with using the onsen at Yuryo.
If it's cloudy we will do one of the following day trips: DisneySea, Nikko, Okutama, Takao (I've looked at all of these but none of them really grabbed me)
Day 4 - Thursday 19th October - Tokyo/Kyoto - Good Nature
Checkin at 3pm. Nishiki Market (right next to hotel). Walk to Kiyomizu-Dera and Yasaka Pagoda. Then Pontocho Alley for food.
Day 5 - Friday 20th October - Kyoto - Good Nature
Arashiyama bamboo at 7am. Row boat on river. Walk to Otagi. Then Sakyo-ku if not tired. In the afternoon/eve, head to Shinbashi-Dori / Shirakawa River Walk
Day 6 - Saturday 21st October - Kyoto - Good Nature
Have a lay in due to early rise yesterday. Either rent a bike and roll around or spend the day at Kibune (any suggested bike routes for a Saturday?). Another alternative is a river boat but I've struggled to find ones other than the rapid one near Arashiyama which we don't want to do. In the evening, go to Koda-ji.
Day 7 - Sunday 22nd October - Kyoto/Osaka - Swissotel or Fraser Residence
Fushimi Inari at 6.30am. Checkin 3pm, travelling via Kyo-train Garaku if we can. In Osaka - Shinsekai in the afternoon and go to Dotombori in evening.
Day 8 - Monday 23rd October - Osaka - Swissotel or Fraser Residence
Minoh Park (is this too similar to Kibune?) 10am to 1pm. Then Sumiyoshi Taisha and Dotombori in evening.
Day 9 - Tuesday 24th October - Osaka - Swissotel or Fraser Residence
Universal Studios. Umeda Sky Building in evening.
Day 10 - Wednesday 25th October - Osaka/Tokyo - Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Marunouchi or Dai-ichi
Checkin 3pm. Tokyo Dome / Akihabara
Day 11 - Thursday 26th October - Tokyo - Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Marunouchi or Dai-ichi
If we didn't do Hakone on Day 3, we'll do it here regardless of weather.

Checkin 1pm. We are switching hotels as this one has a cool, big room and a hot tub on a terrace high up. Plan is to chill during the day and go for a fancy local dinner in the evening (suggestions for dinner would be great) then chill in the hot tub with the city lights.
Day 14 - Sunday 29th October - Tokyo - Gate Hotel
This is technically the final day as we will be checking out at 11pm to travel to the airport for a flight that leaves at 2.45am on Day 15. Plan is Harajuku and Yoyogi Park during the day.
The only bits I have listed on my spreadsheet that I've not included in the above are going to Hamarikyu Gardens and going to the tea house and getting a ferry, plus seeing Rainbow Bridge. I've struggled to fit these in.

There was a fire in my building and I didn't know how serious it was, but I stayed behind to chase and catch my rabbit (I am not permitted to approach her outside of petting hours, which is exclusively five minutes before I go to bed, no matter what time that is). After about a three minute chase I picked her up, covered her ears, held her tight, and ran down nine flights of stairs. We were cleared to go back in, but she was angry with me for like two days (ofc I was forgiven 5 minutes before bed). Hey so me and my girlfriend have considered adopting a cat for a long while now. We found a cat we really want to adopt, but we are gonna travel alot for work this summer, and the current owner wants to get rid of the cat ASAP (probably because they are also gonna travel).
The cat is a 1 year old siberian mix. He is very kind and has never been in a fight according to the previous owner. He is used to being outside.
Our plan is to adopt him possibly this week, Take him to our apartment which is a 2,5 hour flight. He will stay there for a week with my girlfriend, and then travel with my girlfriend to her parents home where she has to work. The cat will stay there until 05. August. From 22-30 July my girlfriends parents have to take care of him, until we can take him home which is a 7 hour busride and a 2,5 hour flight the next day.
On top of it all our apartment has a slightly busy road outside, so we do not want to let him out until we move next summer.
I know cats do not tolerate traveling as well as dogs, but is this doable considering the cat is not used to us?

Group of 4 people travelling without checked luggage from Chiang Mai to Koh Kood on 19.12.
There is flight BKK-Trat departing 11:40 with Bangkok Airways. I have two possibilities for flight from CM to Bangkok:

1. AirAsia...Chiang Mai - BKK arrival 9:15 (I checked flightsaware and it usually arrives to BKK 9:40-9:50)
2. Nok Air...Chiang Mai - DMK arrival should be 7:05 and then book transport with 12go.asia to pier

So my questions is - Is it safe book flight nr. 1 and then BKK-Trat? Cheaper option would be probably 12go private transfer from DMK to Trat via taxi...I checked the prices and total price to Laem Sok Pier should be around 5.000 Baht, price for BKK-Trat flight for all 4 is actually around 10.000 Baht + transport from airport to pier. But I am not sure what´s travel time to pier from DMK airpot? I found it should be around 5-6 hours so I want to be sure that we can reach ferry transport to Koh Kood (last one should be departing 4 pm).

Try booking two return flights in August from Heathrow to Prague, business out and economy back. The total at the end is consistently higher than the sum of the two flights. In my case it was £38!
This isn't dynamic pricing - when you click 'change flights', the flights are the exact same cost. I even tried starting over on a different PC, the prices are the same and the same thing happens.
There's nothing to indicate any extra charges or fees; in fact quite the opposite - when you select your flights it says "Taxes, fees and carrier charges for the entire journey are per adult and are included in the prices above."
Am I going crazy or is this not right?

What if you met someone online who pretends to be so great herself but isn't, well I'm not even that mad at that, but from the start she made me feel like I have bad intentions, I could be a kidnapper and just fake overall. Yes I get that overthinking about what a person really is like is natural when people have not met irl yet. I had tried to meet her, but it took 7 months until she mentioned her cities name and prices of flights have more than doubled. Im talking about the 18 hour flights including stops, no direct flight. I would even get a little cheaper 26 hour travel if i really felt this was right, but thats not the point. The point is she only likes someone successful and from the start she besides being amazing, she made me feel so doubted and inhuman that i had litteraly kept having these in my mind all the time of how she treated me occaisionally and how she does not accept my full ambition of working hard towards a relationship, but wants me to work only for myself (which i can understand, but it does not work with my mindset to be so motivated to still work towards such a difficult attempt of forming a real relationship in future). I need help. Today morning, I had an international flight to Taipei Taoyuan followed by another international flight from there onwards. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to board the former flight and the reason mentioned was that there is no path between the arrival gate of the formal flight (C8) and the departure gate of the latter flight (B6) that allows me to not go via immigration. Note that I am not from a visa exempt country and would need a visa if I need to go via immigration. I ended up booking another replacement flight for the former flight and this time they let me board-- this flight landed at gate B8 and the gates were adjacent this time.
I have a feeling that I was wrongly denied boarding for my original flight. Could someone knowledgeable please tell me if there is indeed no way to go from C8 arrival to B6 departure without going through an immigration checkpoint? Thank you!

Waaaay back in January I finally got the 'rona. Full two weeks but never too harsh. Now in three days I've gone from feeling 100% normal to a horrible hacking cough, screaming headache and so much loss of breath that climbing two flights of stairs feels like running seven. But, day after day, the RATs are coming back negative. What should I do? Now that the PCR clinics are closed if I want to confirm I'm Covid free then it's a trip to the GP followed by a trip to a pathologist - I can't really afford that.

Evans and County Executive Adam Bello proclaimed today through Sunday as Gun Violence Awareness Day and Wear Orange Weekend in Rochester and Monroe County, joining a national movement to associate gun violence with the color hunters wear to protect human life.
City and County leaders joined dozens of orange-clad members of the Rochester Peace Collective and the Roc Against Gun Violence Coalition Friday to read the joint proclamation and announce activities taking place throughout the month of June to enhance community collaboration in the fight against gun violence.
“The City of Rochester and County of Monroe are committed to ending gun violence with the support of law enforcement agencies at the local, state and federal levels; and a host of community partners, including the ROC Against Gun Violence Coalition and the Rochester Peace Collective,” the Mayor and County Executive stated in the joint City-County Proclamation. “We call on the people of Rochester and Monroe County to Wear Orange and come together as one community to heal, offer comfort and support, and join the movement to make gun violence a thing of the past.”
The wear-orange movement was initially conceived by the classmates of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendelton of Chicago, who was shot and killed on a school playground one week after marching in President Barack Obama’s inauguration parade.
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a national grass-roots advocacy agency with a chapter in Monroe County has since played a leading role to promote the message across the country. Hadiya would have been 26 today. Now, Gun Violence Awareness Day and Wear Orange Weekend takes place on the first Friday and weekend of June.
Members of the ROC Against Gun Violence Coalition and the Rochester Peace Collective are hosting a series of events throughout the month of June.

We're visiting for 13 nights in Sep, flying out of ICN on 2.10. I'm not sure which itinerary would be better:
2,3,3,5 nights in Seoul, Busan, Jeju, Seoul
2,2,4,5 nights in Seoul, Busan, Jeju, Seoul
4,4,5 nights in Busan, Jeju, Seoul
Our considerations are as follows:

1. We'd like to spend the last 5 nights in Seoul so that we don't travel during the Cenuok holiday. On the other hand, this probably means we don't really have full 5 days of enjoying Seoul, because some things will be closed.
   
2. Perhaps flying directly from ICN to Busan will save us some time? E.g. if I modify the flight with Korea Air to transit in ICN and connect to a flight to Busan. How much time is reasonable for transit at ICN? I'm guessing switching to the domestic airport will take some time? Perhaps taking the train to Busan would be better than both? I'm somewhat worried we would be too jetlagged and confused at this point for finding the correct train etc.
   
3. We don't like to switch hotels a lot, and I suspect that 4 nights is better than 3 for Jeju.
   

My main unknowns are the amount of hassle involved in going from ICN to Busan directly (yet jetlagged) vs going to Seoul at the expense of extra 2 nights.
